I am looking for a seasonal spot about an hour north-ish of DC. Any experience with campgrounds in this location? Thanks.

Have you tried Rvparksreview.com? I found these, but can't vouch for any of them or know if they offer regional spots:

Hi Judy-
Thanks for helping me with a beginning reference. I have been so lost trying to get started.

One other thing you can try is to open Google Maps and do a search on "Campgrounds near ??" and then fill in the name of the city. It works more easily if you initially turn off the satellite function and look just at the basic maps.
Oops, just tried it and found a nudist camp!
Got to be careful.

Haha! Someone I asked recommended that nudist man camp to me yesterday. I didn't know it was a joke until I looked it up.

Would you be interested in the Gettysburg PA area, Harrisburg PA, Lancaster County in PA? There is a nice family oriented campground on the eastern shore of MD called Holiday Park in Greensboro, MD. We have been to the last one many times, as it is our "local to us" campground and we know and admire the owners. We have also been to the Gettysburg and Lancaster County campgrounds.

And rates will be considerably less. I love Lake in Wood in Lancaster County. Their daily rates are high, but their seasonal rates were wonderful. I love the manager.

I think Lake in Woods could be very close to what I am looking for, and if there is nothing closer to West Chester, PA with recommendations this awesome, it may be the one!

If you talk to Jerome (manager) tell him I recommended them. And if you end up staying, I'll put you in touch with a couple people there that are awesome.

Thanks Beth. I will. I expect to be heading down in April to visit my son and am going to check out Lake in Woods on the way.
