I like thinking that I could place ones in front or behind the back wheels as one piece and not have to spend as much time kneeling down and hoping that I have the inside wheel lined up "good enough."

Hacksaws are cheap you don't have room for it you could use it then give it away to someone.... looks like a good idea for leveling

I was thinking of getting someone with a table saw to cut them, but I bet they would mess up the blades!

Also, he is showing tandem wheels, so I would want longer pieces to fit under dual wheels. I would want all to be 12 x 24. The big advantage I see is the weight, or at least I hope that stuff wears less than lumber. The 10 x 24' two-inch thick boards I use work fine, and in fact, the regular pine ones last almost as long as the treated ones but are lighter. I started out two years ago with 7 boards and have only lost two.

I like this idea way better than the Lego blocks. And I'm using wood at present, but it's heavy. Going to try this. As soon as my son returns, it'll be on his list.

Is there metal reinforcing fiber in horse mats? Wondering if ajig saw with a heavy duty blade would work?

These mats just don't seem thick enough to me. I've camped where I've had to go 3 or 4 blocks high (think Cordes Junction, AZ for one) with my Trailer Life blocks and they are thicker than 1/2". I think they're at least an inch high. Incidentally, I've found the Trailer Life blocks hold up better than the other brands.

A reciprocating saw would cut that, but my thought would be the added weight of carrying them around. I currently use the plastic blocks, but like Judy, boards have worked for years too.

Tina, if you are using the pretreated wood for boards, try switching to the regular pine. It weighs a LOT less. I have both, and while the pine lasts a little less, it is cheaper.

Me too. I'm thinking of asking maintenance here if they'd cut it for me, to my specs. I'm betting they will.
