Packing up

Okay, who's the smart alec that keeps putting stuff in my outside compartments? I've started putting stuff away and straightening my outside compartments. Where does all that unneeded stuff come from? Today was 83 degrees so I've also put away more of my winter clothes. Yesterday was rainy and wasn't supposed to be windy.. Yeah, right. There I am outside in my jammies at 3:30 am putting up the awning. Why won't I learn to put it up BEFORE I go to bed? Also taking down several of the windchimes I have hung outside. I love the sound of the windchimes tinkling sweetly - however its a complete racket when the wind gets strong. Oooooh I'm soooooo ready to hit the road. Hitch itch is a terrible disease. Anyone else gonna make it to Port Lavaca to meet up with me, Beth and Sparkle?

My DH gets hitch itch at least once a week, but we'll be in Sarasota til the end of March, so he'll have to do a lot of scratching. Hmmm, sounds like you might need a storage unit or===take the advice you give others, and let it go.  carold

It is crazy how stuff accumulates when you're sitting still !! I did the same thing awhile ago and was just amazed at the amount of stuff that sneaked in there - HA !!!

I sure do wish I could be joining you ladies....I can't imagine a more fun time!

Alas, here I am stuck for yet another while. I have to console myself how nice it is to get a check every two weeks and pare back my debts just that much more!

You three will have a super time, I am sure! Make sure your cameras have well-charged batteries so we can join in the fun with you!

Already have a storage unit. Its the "new" stuff I've acquired like the hummingbird feeder, the longer rope lights, the extra hose for other than drinking water, a new windchime. See, its all "stuff" I need to take with me.

I have a bigger rig with more storage, and I've just come to accept that a certain amount of "bay dance" is inevitable. What I need to do is better organize my storage bays ... and I'm thinking about getting some of those slide-out shelves because the hardest part for me is bending over and reaching in for stuff. I think the BEST idea any RV manufacturer had is those bay doors that open from the side. YES!!!

From my heart of hearts ... what I REALLY want is one of those push-button awnings.

Yep...know the feeling of "new stuff"....like Karen, I love windchimes...got a new one in Port A....then it's the "stuff" for the kids and grand-kids...then it's Ernie's "stuff".....this is why I spend a week sorting when we get back to PA... sorting stuff...

I am a 'stuff' freak, and the first to admit it! Anything new, anything on sale, anything that might make things more fun, anything that could be handy some day down the line, anything a step better than the last year's model, on and on and on and on.......ACK! I cannot resist! I will need to clean out my basement compartments in the spring for about the umpteenth time, and, when I get somewhere and need something, can I find it??? Of course not! Not unless I take the whole shebang out of those bays and lay it all out on the ground! I even have most of that stuff in plastic containers now, but not labeled, and not handy to get out! I like the idea of slide-out storage thingies, with labels, so I might be able to find what I'm looking for!

Getting such an education here. I had always thought that "stuff" problem was just a stick house person affliction.

Oh, it's different kinds of stuff, but there's always stuff. Got my new tv installed today - so now what do I do with the old one? It works - do I toss it anyway? Cuz I am not taking it on the road with me. Ah, I'll put it on Craig's List and see if I can get a taker for cheap. Since it's not digital, has to be cheap. Same with my toaster oven - now that I have my micro/convection I don't want to bring the toaster oven around with me any more.

So, stuff accumulates without even trying. However, I did break my clothing and shoe rules several times while here in Port A - way more clothes and shoes than I got here with. Going to have to start getting rid of some, and that's going to be harder. I can stuff them all in - but I made my rule for a reason - hate that I broke it (over and over this past year).

Stuff affliction has no bounds. I think its like putting on weight, you put stuff in your body even though you know it will fill up the wrong areas and be really hard to get rid of, instead of just saying no. Hmmm, I notice my bigger rig has a lot of empty space  carold

I seem to acquire two things for every one I get rid of. I love my stuff...how can I part with it?

Janice, sorry to disappoint you, but even with the side open bay doors, I still have to literally climb in to get stuff. You just don't have to back out as far before you hit your head or back! The slide outs are nice, but the salesman pointed out to me that you lose about 1/4 of your storage area with them. As far as the automatic awning, yes it's nice, but you can only adjust them down so far and you only get about half the shade as you do with a manual one. As with almost anything on an rv, there are pro's and con's with everything.

And aren't I just a bundle of joy this morning???? :?
