Plans and then real life adjustment

Our original plan was to go to Yuma in October and spend some time with our new to us trailer and getting the lot ready for my sister and husband who are full timers (Minnesota in summer Arizona in winter) to spend the winter. We wanted a leisurely trip down and then be back for the holidays with our one year old grand daughter. In mid-January we would go back and stay until March. Well life then took a twist. My sister was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on Labor Day and has had to a very aggressive chemo therapy treatment. Her doctors consented to her having three treatments in Minneapolis and then could be transferred to the University of Arizona in Tucson for the remaining three treatments and bone marrow transplant. We then were going to go with them and be available to get her to any emergency care she might need on the way (too hard to drag the 5th wheel around doctors parking lots). Then another plan change occurred when doctors decided she was not to spend time sitting in truck so must fly out. We then were asked to travel with Ted so he isn't alone on the road for 5 days. Now we are all ready to leave and in a holding pattern waiting for medical approval for her travel plans which includes having my sister in Tucson flying up to fly back with her. All necessary supplies are piled in middle of living room floor to be load into pick up as soon as we get the call We won't have time to do much sight seeing this trip. The chemo for this cancer is very aggressive and with each treatment it takes her longer to rebound.

Life just laughs when we make some plans..... :? There is a benefit of knowing how to work with jello. Good that she is still able to go south and hopefully benefit from the warmer weather. Most wonderful that you are retired and able to join with your family to support her through these detours and rocky roads...... Keep us in some loops. We will hold you all in our hearts.
