Checking to see if this link works for a carnival slide show.
(Please forgive my copying and pasting from the other group, but I just don't have the patience or time to do this all over again!!)
It was such a perfect day for the parade yesterday!
This slide show link works fine, but pictures are smallish and don't show what it was really like. So I'll post some of my favorites on here, too. This parade went on for over two hours, and these are just a few of the highlights of the myriads of floats that went by. Music was booming from nearly every float, and there were several marching bands, including our own high school band. It really gets people out of the woodwork up here each year!
Ice Pirate ship with pirate kids!
Ice Palace from front.
Ice palace from inside.
Distant shot of ice palace.
Street and crowd awaiting start of parade.
Lead parade float.
Float built by construction company my son worked for. Cannons fired confetti and smoke!!!
Man on stilts handing out candy to kids.
Wrecked pirate ship!
The Lawnchair ladies---always a favorite with the crowds! They do a marching-dancing routine to music with lawnchairs!
Scottish bagpipers marching band---LOVE these guys!
Beautiful draft horses.
Signs held by Green Circle Environmental group.
Some of the neat percussion instruments this group played during the entire parade!
More instruments.
Crowd on corner.
Crowd in balconies.
More balcony crowds.
Balcony crowds.
Kids on shoulders is a common sight during the parades!
Group to call for nuisance bears!
