Heading west!

I have officially decided to move to the Southwest!!

I have several possibilities for jobs with Great Clips in Phoenix and Prescott AZ. I also have a customer who owns several GC's in Iowa who knows a franchisee who owns 40 GC's shops in Arizona. There is a GC's convention here in Mpls in two weeks and he said that guy will be there and he will talk to him about finding me a job at one of his shops out there. So lots of options for work!

I decided to do what I did when I moved to California 6 years ago and, instead of pulling a Uhaul, I just bought a used rooftop carrier and will just take with me what I can fit in that and in my Jeep. That will save me about $400.

Now for the hard work of going thru all my stuff and getting rid of 95% of it in the next 5 weeks! Done it before and can do it again! I am excited now! I really need this new change and adventure!

Will plan to head out on October 1st. My plan is to head south and catch 40 in Oklahoma and explore Route 66 all the way to Flagstaff, which has been on my bucket list for a long time!

Tomorrow I am going to the State Fair and have one more fun day before digging in and purging and packing up!

Wish me luck! :D

I'm glad you made a decision about your life that's best for you. I know how hard it is to see an ageing parent make terrible mistakes about their finances but if you can't get support from your brothers and from county adult protection services then it is best to just walk away. We will be in Yuma in mid-January to early March. Hopefully our paths will cross. This will be the first year we haven't had to rush around so I hope to take many side trips and see lots of the state from more then the passenger side window. Good luck with all that you have to do in the next few weeks. It will be busy and exciting time for you.

Good Luck with your move and adventures. Hope that your brothers wake up and go for guardianship for your father while they still have something to guard. He will end up on their door steps one way or another.
