Lyn (SoCalGalcas) and I just spent 4 nights in the CG at Thomas Canyon. It was somewhat overshadowed by PattyK's passing, but we chose to enjoy the place she loved so much in her memory. I posted a few other pics of Thomas Canyon in the thread about Patty's passing.

Last year I met Pam, Patty's co-host at the CG. She's carrying on this summer without Patty and missing her a lot. That's Pam's friend, Kiki, in her lap. Pam full times and I finally managed to convince her to join the forum. She doesn't have service in the CG, so I'm sure she will post her intro as soon as she heads to Elko maybe on her days off next week.


Pam was kind enough to invite us to a BBQ ribs dinner in her MH. It was my first time using the timer on my camera and it kept tilting on the back of the sofa. I was drinking Diet Pepsi (can't say the same for Lyn and Pam) so the blame goes to the camera and the sofa not me.

Looks like you had a fun time...had to laugh when I saw the caption wondering what Lynn was doing I thought reading!!! pretty area...glad you were able to

Oh such good pics Sandi. Really good to see your smiling faces. Love your camping spot. I am anxious to get on the road and go camping especially this fall. Still pondering where to go but it will come to me. I am also thinking Quartzsite this year as you all always look like you are having so much fun. I have been getting some things done around here this summer and they will be done soon so then I should be free to meander somewhere.

I'm home! Had a great time camping with the family on Rock Creek and then with Sandi in Thomas Canyon. Was gone 23 days and drove 1862 miles.

While at Rock Creek, there was a fire about five miles east of us. Got to watch the big planes drop fire retardant and then one day, had five helicopters flying over our camp to drop water on the fire all day. Friends caught some trout, and I smoked the ones they gave me.

Now to get the trailer cleaned for the next outing over Labor Day!
