Has any one tried this?

"Sage the pests away- Throw a stick of sage into your campfire at night. It works miracles. The sage scent emitted from that one branch of sage in your camp fire will keep the mosquitoes as well as bugs away from the camp site so efficiently that you will not even need a spray to interfere with that mellow smell of a marshmallow roasting on your campfire."

Thanks very much! I'll give that a try on our next trip to the coast where, unless it's windy, the mosquitos can be terrible. Bandon's Bullards Beach comes to mind. :)

I just don't know if that works.

When I lived in the Caribbean folks always burning sage to keep away the jumbys (bad spirits). And we still had bugs when it wasn't windy.

What does work is a BIG box fan, they are cheap too.

Also the Off or Back Woods or Deep Woods though I don't know what the difference is between back woods and deep woods.

I also had some natural stuff sent to me that is on bracelets and it works until it stops. You have to seal the bracelets up in zip baggies or containers when it's not buggy then it get back out when it is. I had one on wrist and one on ankle and it worked for me.

The mosquitos came out in droves last night after the sun went behind the trees, so I dug this out and we tried it. Worked great and had a very pleasant minty smell. I've been carrying it around for over a year and was very glad I had it. Going to get some more to have it available. I am not sure, but I probably got it at Walmart. AMAzon has a mosquito and tick spray in a bottle that looks more economical. Here is the Walmart site:

I live in SE Louisiana and Avon Skin so Soft is what we use to deter mosquitoes. It works.

Oh, yes, I forgot about the Skin So Soft. I have heard that it works well but have never tried it. I imagind Louisiana would be about the best place to test it.
