Great tour Liz. Did your friend say that last flower was digitalis (foxglove)? Looks kind of like it to me.

Yes, that was it!

You find such lovely places to go to Liz. Since you've been birding so long, do you just know what they are, or do you still need to lookup some of them?

I like to figure out the butterflies. The one in your post may be a Western Tiger Swallowtail

No, I am really a casual birder. If I can get a picture, I look it up for ID. Some that I see often, I know, but usually double check. Birdie is my mentor and taught me all I know, but she has been doing it forever.

Thanks for the butterfly ID link. I usually don't try to ID those; now maybe I will.
