My Daughter's New Love

My daughter's finance took her Saturday to pick up her birthday present. They traded her Suzuki bike in on a 2009 Harley Night Train. Boy does he know how to get points. She's walking on air. Have to admit I don't understand wanting something where you get bugs in your teeth but then I'm old. I did my varoom, varoom thing when I was a whole lot younger only mine was sports cars. Said they got quite a deal cause bikes aren't selling much better than cars are right now.

Oh Karen, your daughter looks so happy. Future SIL certainly knows how to treat his lady. Best of luck to them.

Karen, Really nice bike, a Harley no less, Wow !! Very pretty daughter on it too. She looks very nice draped on it, no wonder he got it for her. I'm glad for her, hope she enjoys it and doesn't smile the whole time she's riding it :D A clear shield on her helmet would help this problem, wouldn't it?

What a special birthday present THAT was! And it looks as if she knows it!

What a very pretty daughter you have, Karen! GREAT pics! Thanks for sharing them!

I still drive my Honda 450 motorcycle, but, if/when it tips over, I can no longer right it----so am thinking I need to trade it in for a smaller bike or scooter, sort of like Beth's pretty green one!

What a happy time indeed. Keep saying I want to get one, but I think my Harley days are done. :)

Way cool bike! And beautiful daughter, too! I'm usually grinning like a lunatic when I'm on my Harley, bugs or no bugs! She's gonna love it, so different from a suzuki.

Nasoosie, you can pick up your bike easily. If I can pick up my 500# bike, you can pick yours up. Just follow these directions. Best to get a friend over to help you when the weather gets better, lay it down in the driveway or patio and practice. They actually come up pretty easy if you do it right, but you may have to practice just where to put your feet and butt.

Karen, you might send this to your daughter, too, in case she goes riding w/o her fiance. The dumbest things can make a bike go down while you're sitting still or doing a slow maneuver. Just ask me, I know from experience!

Thanks for that link, Sharon! I really need to practice it when it warms up, if I am to keep that bike. I know others have tried to tell me about how to do that, but I have never seen it done, nor really read a detailed 'how-to' before. I love my motorcycle when it's upright! So I will practice!
