Wawona, Yosemite Nat'l Park

Postby monik7 » Sat May 14, 2016 12:30 pm

I made a day trip from the SKP park I'm staying at outside Yosemite to the historic Wawona Hotel and Pioneer History Center nearby.

Historic Wawona Hotel. Due to a conflict with the previous park concessionaire, the park service has been forced to change the names of a number of historic sights and buildings in the park. It is now called Big Trees Lodge. I refuse to use the new names. I'd like to boycott the previous concessionaire that caused this to happen.

Nice day trip, Sandi! Somehow I missed the hotel when I was there I guess. Hmmm.

Southern entrance. Thistle and I had a nice hike there, but missed the Pioneer History Center because he wasn't allowed there. Nice pics.

Both your posts take me back to our day trip there a couple years back. We went in Wawona. I remember it well.
