The flock of white ibis I saw the other day in the neighbor's yard came back this morning to roost in a tree.
The morning sun gave them a rosy pink glow as they groomed themselves in the top branches.

I have never seen them before. I wonder if they get as far west from FL as over into Lower Alabama? Interesting birds!

So great what the morning light did to them in that tree. Even better that you were around with a camera handy.
I saw a roseate spoonbill today in our lake here - but, alas, as usual, did not have my camera with. It was closer than usual to me when I saw it - but was working. I guess cameras need to be carried 24/7!

Really nice, Liz. Looks like early morning sun, and the birds do look very pink.
Maybe I'm missing Florida, during the short winter time anyway
I enjoyed seeing them, Thanks for posting. You're great with that camers.

How beautiful. What a treat to have such gorgeous birds come visit.
Every year I end up with a flock of loud yacking crows. Gives you the creepy eerie feeling like your in a scene from the Alfred Hitchcock movie "Birds" --

I still have occassional nightmares about those crows in Hitchcock's movie!!!
However, I once had a crow I named Joe for a pet! He was amazing! He helped me reshingle a roof on a log cabin I was living in, by picking out the nails I jimmied up with a screw-driver, and placing them into a can near me! He LOVED to be involved with anything I was doing! What a great couple of years I had with Joe!

I have always wanted a crow! I think they are the handsomest of birds. Whenever I'm out in the woods I look for a nestling. I once had a Starling as a pet. A friend was over, chatting away, and suddenly stopped, stared at the Starling and said, "Please don't tell me that bird is talking!" His name was Chirpy Egger and he would say Hello Chirpy. When he had a nap every afternoon he would tuck his head under his wing and this little voice would come out, Oh Chirpy chirpy chirpy.
