Of Mother's Day and Beer

Postby MandysMom » Tue May 10, 2016 4:02 am

It was so nice yesterday to get a chatty call from my younger son 1600 miles from us in MN. He wished me a Happy Mothers Day and told me what they did. At some point I said it would be great if you could call your Dad tomorrow on his birthday. The kid made a crack back that If his Dad had a Guiness Stout they could drink and chat. I said, I can make that happen. So today I picked up a six pack at the store and had them chilled. Around 6:30 our son called and they had a good time chatting and comparing taste notes on the beer they were drinking! It was amusing. After the call we had a nice supper and dessert and Mel opened presents. But best of all was the call from our son.later he put on facebook a picture of his hand holding his Guiness and the note that he was having a beer with his Dad from 1600 miles apart. I guess they could say the bar was a long one.

That is so cool, Velda. Be awesome if they could make a monthly "beer chat" happen. Pick a new beer and taste it together.

I agree that it sounds like the start of a great tradition. Maybe by Father's Day, they should do Skype to talk 'in person' .
