Hello Gals

Been away a while, thought I'd check back in, missed you all.

Life got weird, then busy; the highlights...

- Job hunting was a nightmare, we made many plans based on my working within a certain time-frame and I couldn't even get an interview down here. But I FINALLY got an interview and got hired in the library at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange (15 miles form our place) about six weeks ago. My hours are utterly bizarre, a mix of evening and day shifts with split days off. Not ideal, but I'm thankful to have it.

- Sold the RV, no more Class B's for me, outside everything was too low to the ground, inside I smacked my head constantly.

- My phone died along with my contact list, then my new phone bricked... with my mostly reconstructed contact list. No more iphones for me, just cheapie androids where I can download my list.

Not sure if RVing is in our future or not, but thought I'd check in here occasionally anyway.

I was hoping that when I took the job, Liz, but there are only four of us, I'll be retired before these hours change. It's okay though, it's making me learn to be more flexible... in my work hours anyway.

So glad to see you back. Have missed you. Hopefully the job is good except for the weird hours. Please stay in touch, whether you end up with another rv or not.

Hi Queen! It is great to hear from you! So many have been wondering where you are and what you are doing.
It's a shame that the class b did not work for you. However, don't say never about another RV.
I am thinking very seriously about trading my truck camper for a class B. I have bum knees and just have had a knee replacement. Two many steps in that type camper for me. Did you have any other issues besides the height and bumping your head! I'm one of those short persons.
Again, good to hear from you...don't stay away so long next time. Lyn

Thanks for the welcome back!

SoCalGalcas - I had a knee replacement a year ago and that was a part of my problem, I didn't heal up super well and the B was just cramped and low for me. I remember my folks A's and C's and the hookups were higher in those. So you never know, we may yet decide to hit the road.

And remember that you guys can show up for GTGers with or without a rig. Just come to hear the stories and tales and stay to share the campfire, food and friendships. :)

Good to know you are ok. I don't bump my head in my Leisure Travel class B but you are right hookups are low. Luckily as long as I have a kneel pad I can easily handle them. Wishing you all the best.

welcome back! I hope you don't give up the idea of RVing for the future. I'll be in Florida next winter, so might give you a shout and invite you two over.

Mary is pretty gun shy now, but you never know. Definitely give us a shout!

Welcome back, Mickie. I was glad to see your post, wondered where you had gotten to! Sounds like you've had so much happening. I can relate to you about the headroom in your RV. That was one of the main reasons I sold my RT but am so happy with Lola. It's a learning experience to find what you really want or need. You just may find something else one of these days! But meanwhile stay in touch, as CArol said, nosey!

Good to have you posting again, Queen. I just got home from the So. Cal. Good Sam Samboree in Serendipity. Only bonked my head 2 or 3 times. It's a learning curve and my old brain has a steeper curve! First few outings I hit my head on everything and split my knee open on the metal thingamabob on the door every time. Covered that sucker up with good old duct tape and haven't hit my knee since. Yeah, the hookups are low on Sere, but they were low on Flitter, too. At least the Pleasure Way has all the hookups in one place, so it's still easier. Now about that tiny freezer . . . .

The Samboree was super. Weather perfect. I attended 3 great seminars - no matter how long one has been doing this, there's always something to learn! If anyone ever gets a chance to attend a Good Sam rally I'd encourage you to go!

Hang in there, Lyn - won't be too long before that gorgeous pool can be used.

One funny story: Middle of the night Friday. It was cold, so I got up and dug out the little electric heater (no, of course I didn't think of it before I went to bed!). It's 2:30 a.m. and I'm trying to go back to sleep and I hear "click-click, click-click, click-click". NOW what! Something wrong with the heater? Tried to ignore it, but you know how that is. Got up to investigate and discovered my 4-way emergency flashers were on! OMG - I don't even know where the switch is! I had visions of someone looking out and seeing my flashers on, thinking I had a heart attack or something and calling 911! Elsa, bless her little furry heart, must have been exploring the dash and somehow stepped on the flashers! Only took me 2 hours to get back to sleep!

The flashers had me cracking up! Way to go Elsa!

Being on the high side of 5'10" put all but the very center of the aisle in head cracking range... and I fit on the potty with my shoulders touching on both sides, I don't know how bigger men do it! We're talking about a Born Free or a bigger C if we give it another go.

On my trip with my son's cats I would lock up at night and in the morning I would find the front doors unlocked. The cats were walking on the locks. Good thing the windows wouldn't go down with the engine off. I taped some jar lids over the locks.
