It is a beautiful place! I stayed there about three weeks ago, and one I will come back to often. You can ride your bike to the desert museum and Old Tucson, plus the Saguaro National Park. Cost for electric site is only $20, which is a bargain. And Beth, I think it would be a great place to camp host. It would be a fantastic place to wake up to, except in summer, of course!

Good bird photos. Most of the time, by the time I open my camera, the bird has flown away, so you will notice that I focus on taking pictures of stuff that stays mostly still, like scenery and plants. (And I have a point and shoot camera!)

I've been recommending this cg for years, but only had stated myself once before... I'm so frugal. Splurging a bit more lately. I'll keep my name on their list. Knowing my luck both they and the wildlife refuge I'd like to volunteer at in NM will both contact me for the same time.

As I have gotten older, I tend to tell myself more often that I deserve stuff. And beautiful surroundings are important to me. Given the choice of a basic or lousy campground in a beautiful setting or a really fancy place in a lousy setting with no view, I will take the view every time! The thing is that this campground has the view and is a nice place, plus fairly reasonably priced.

Would be VERY hot in summer, however.
