Has anyone else in a s&b had problems with mice this year? I bet I've caught at least a dozen in traps in the closet already. I have no idea where the little buggers are getting inside. I usually have a couple each year but this is getting ridiculous. I have to check the traps twice a day! UGH!

Mice can get thru a hole the size of a dime. Look around any pipes or electrical cords coming into the house. You can stuff tinfoil in any gaps.

Or steel wool.
Poor little guys are just looking for a warm and cozy winter home!

First, I use live traps. Can't deal with furry little dead bodies so I catch and release. I caught 21 over 21 days earlier this year. I would take them outside and release. Finally instead of releasing near the house I walked the little devils waaaaaaay down the driveway and released and voila, no more mice. My daughter swears I was catching the same one over and over. And PLEASE don't use those cruel sticky traps. Nothing deserves to die like that.

I hate those sticky traps too. I use the snap ones that kill them quickly. I think I've found where they are getting in and will close it up tomorrow.

One humane trap I discovered is a 5-gallon bucket with some bird seed in the bottom. I had this in my garage years ago. Every day I would find a mouse in the bottom. (You do have to check it daily.) My problem also was that I was never sure it was a new mouse or if I was catching the same one over and over again. I let them loose in the backyard. Needed to take them for a long drive!

Bay leaves are a good deterrence for all kinds of critters; mice, wasps, etc.

Yes, I always use humane live traps, and in the store I owned we used a 5 gallon pail. We know the same came back, my partner hid and watched. We not only found the location because of his watching, but learned to take a drive with one, not a walk.
I trapped one when at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Dropped him off at the South Rim. That was just for kicks lol

So that was the first RVing mouse? What tales she must have told!
Sounds like a good start for a children's story.

"There once was a little girl mouse ...." Or maybe it was a grandmother mouse.
