Canyon Lake Adventure

It was a long time coming because we had to wait for a minor surgery to heal, but the day finally arrived!
It couldn't have been better, oh wait, it could have been just a tad cooler but 83 was certainly do-able.
With a day off from school, we loaded up the little car and headed up the road, 40-45 minutes, maybe
35 miles, so close it still amazes me.
The viewpoint before we drop down to the lake
as we drive in and pass a dumpster, we see this guy, there were actually two but they got nerveous
as I approached and one flew off. They are vultures.
this looks like a good spot
getting all the necessary stuff together
and away we go.....
and whats a boat trip without a dip in the water to cool off
Think somebody enjoyed this
The lake from the opposite end, another viewpoint
on the way out I stopped and took this pic cause every now and then you see a mountain thats yellow, makes me
think of sulpher, and perhaps these hills are full of it, I don't know.
This is my really favorite picture of Maggie, she's alert, curious and slightly panting in a happy way.
I think she likes this kayaking thing I know I do, thanks Tina.
