Kind Of Scared

I've debated on whether to post this or wait until maybe the end of the week. However, I've found it very helpful to post here among so many friends so I'm going for it.
Yesterday I had an appointment with a new rheumatologist for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. It's been very hard the last 6 months to get an appointment because of my RV trips and scheduling rules at Kaiser. When I complained to the RN doing my most-recent infusion, she took it upon herself to contact the head of Rheumatology regarding my problem with getting an appointment and my worsening symptoms. They gave me an appointment for yesterday with the head of Rheumatology.
So yesterday she did a thorough exam and scheduled me for an injection to help worsening pain in my right hip and also some x-rays. She called this morning to tell me they want to do a bone scan because the x-rays showed a number of lesions on my hip. All this morning I've been on the Internet and finding there is a chance of bone cancer which is incurable. Apparently it is not a good sign if there are multiple lesions. I'm trying to stay calm. I'll have the bone scan on Thursday morning. It will involve an injection of a radioactive material, then I'll have to wait about 3 hours when they'll do the scan. My doctor said there could be a diagnosis late Thursday or even though she'll be off Friday, she will check in and hopefully be able to let me know by Friday.
Lately I've been thinking a lot about cancer because my best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago. We've known each other since I was 12 and she was 13 in 8th grade. She was treated with chemo and radiation. When I got back from the Oregon GTG she told me they had found her cancer had spread to her bone marrow. She has been given 6-12 months to live or 2 years if she's lucky. If I get a cancer diagnosis I don't know how I'll be able to help her and for sure she can't help me.
Your prayers would be appreciated for both of us.
