First out of state trip with new rig

After a couple of shakedown weekends with my tiny 20' camper, I'm headed out tomorrow for a week in southern Minnesota. My sister and her hubby have a camper hookup and pad on their lakeside property. This is my first semi-big trip since my husband died a year ago. I know I'll miss him terribly, but that is something that happens every day anyway. I'll also miss the relative luxury of our 34' retirement camper. No more recliner or big walk-thru bath. But I do have a queen bed and a tiny dry bath with shower, so I'm not roughing it by any means. After this, I'm spending some time back in Iowa camping with my grandsons, then after they go back to school, I'm taking a big trip with friends, maybe west to Wyoming or a circle tour of Lake Superior, we haven't decided yet. I can do this. And while it won't be the same as all those trips with my husband, I'm glad I made the decision to keep camping.

Yes, there will be bittersweet moments. But you can make New memories with the grands and friends. Enjoy.

Have fun on your trip Dee and like Beth said, you will be making new memories, just different. I'm sure you're DH will be peeking at you and giving you some hints, that you probably didn't know you knew about.
Have fun and keep us informed how it goes.

Best wishes for a wonderful trip, Dee. Lost my hubby last year too. My first "solo" trip was with my daughter last year but had to come home to Florida from Missouri by myself. Found myself in one way conversations with DH a few times and still do. Travelling solo is not for the faint of heart but obviously these ladies on this forum are proof it can be done and you can have a good time doing it.
