Jello Plans turned soupy !!!

Postby Carolinagal » Thu Jul 09, 2015 6:30 pm

Some of you know but others don't, my long awaited trip out west has been changed and I mean a lot. I did get out to see my family, but I am headed home in the morning, tried leaving Tuesday morning, but the RV decided it was sick !! So spent a night in Mercedes Benz in Littleton , Co, lot waiting for morning and then the guy tells me he has so many ahead of me, but if I want to fill these papers out, he would get to me when he could. Well, an hr later here is mechanic knocking on my door and after 3 hrs. he has found a hose has come loose, cause of no power or pull, didn't want to go and that was main reason , but also needed a valve changed. So I was out of there by noon, had already said my good byes, so bought some groceries and came onto CG on I-70, not far from my family but hey, good byes are hard, so no 2nds :( Besides, when I got near their area, the biggest storm was on me, and they live down a 4 and half mile gravel road, and they wouldn't have been looking for me, so just went on by and got here, and rained most of night.

Now, you may be wondering why am I going back home. Well, the elevation out here is really doing a number on these lungs that had pneumonia in 2012, dr , told me they had been scarred some from it. Well, went in one ear and out the other, but I find with my yr and half of idleness and that, plus the many years I smoked, that I can't move fast or exert myself much or I can't breathe. So, my trip to the Tetons and on to the Badlands and the whole bit I have to just forget this year. Hoping I can get myself in better shape, where I can still do it maybe next year. Also the weather is really something else, its not fun traveling this year, I never remember such as this.

Not enthused about the travels back east, but hey it is what it is. I can't get out in higher elevation and not be able to function at all and traveling solo, think that would be a dumb thing to do. I do dumb things , but not on purpose :o :D

So, if any have wondered why or whats happening to me, haven't been on here much, this is why. Hard to admit and harder to change my plans that I thought of on that Fl vacation I had

I will close this disheartening information by inviting any and all who might be coming near North Carolina to stop by. I have one 30 amp plug in, water is sulphur, so bring your own drinking water, but we might even be able to dump your tanks. I have plenty of parking place and all are more then welcome, I'm not thinking this summer is going to be the best I've spent, but do think it will be much better then last one

Bum deal, Carol.
I'm sure this is frustrating & disappointing.
I'm not as tough as most on this group - the smallest thing makes me think I should sell my van, but then it gets fixed & I take a drive & life is good again.
Hope you can get your lungs strong enough to try this again, and the rain & storms eventually will stop (I think) & then travel will be fun again.
If you pass near Kansas City, give me a buzz, maybe we can meet up - have lunch or dinner. I'll PM you my phone number.
Rest up & take good care of yourself.

CArol, I highly recommend the Kansas City tour company invite. :) Get down where you can breath and then linger when you can. Another area to think about is that southern il, Carbondale tour company..... :)

Or hey, come farther north and visit near Chi-town! I have plenty of parking space for RVs. ;)
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Sorry I won't be seeing you this summer - but looks like you might just be able to extend how long it takes to get home and do a bunch of lower elevation visiting. Take these ladies up on it - I bet you'll cheer up considerably! Hugs!

I'm still in Kansas, Carol.

Really sorry the altitude is a problem and has changed your plans.

Hope you can meet with your doctor and find a solution to your altitude problems. Maybe a change in meds or something to heal your lungs?

I'm sorry you are having to change your travel plans. I would tell you to stop by if you come through Louisiana but it's too hot here now.

Well dayum! Sorry to hear your plans had to change. No matter how much we think we're still young'uns, our bods tell us different! I agree with Tina, take advantage of the travel pals in the lower altitudes and take a long time to get home. Plus the exercise from the sightseeing will be good for you! LOL! Hugs, GF!

Thanks everyone, I have decided to just go home. Start playing on my WII again and I have a good hill there to get the legs back in shape and hopefully some of the breathing. As long as the resident bear doesn't show its face, saw a baby just before I left !!! I am really just not in a visiting mode. I didn't want to leave my family when I did, after 3 yrs, just too short of a visit, so I'm just not into visiting. I've had some wonderful invites, but I'm just not good company.

I will be ok, and I do realize that I have limits now, gosh, guess its about time, but I need to adjust and try to get back some of what I had before the idleness in Fl. I haven't spent a summer in NC in ages, so it might be a good thing. It used to be the coolest place to be, temp wise and so many CG's around, I'll just go for a few days and enjoy myself there and really investigate my area, as it is a lovely place.

I do plan and look forward to the GTG in Indiana in Sept and hopefully I'll feel better, if not, will have gotten used to the fact that hey its not all that bad being this age, as long as I have given every effort to doing the best that I can to get back what I can. And I feel I can only do that at home.

I'll be on here and you'll all know I'm really ok, and will keep you informed if I feel things are even a wee bit better for me.

CArol, if my friend Brenda ever gets back to posting here, lives in the mountains of NC, so you could even, perhaps have a GTG there in NC. She is busy trying to get rid of her house and settle some other personal stuff and is living in her two RV's at moment. I so hope your health improves and you can live your dreams.
