A Texas Panhandle Adventure

The Traveling Longdogs and I just took an RV trip northwest to the Texas Panhandle. It was a lot of fun. I took my son, two grandkids, the Traveling Longdogs, and my son's dog Angus and I survived and actually had a great time. It's amazing how green Texas is this year with the exception of far west Texas. We only encountered rain for about a half hour after we left San Antonio and not again the rest of the trip although my DH said it rained in San Antonio nearly every day. We saw some great scenery and visited some very interesting places if you are interested.

I really hated to come home but Steve had some business to take of so the fun ended for a while.

What a great trip Colleen ~ thanks for sharing.

Since the only place in Texas I've ever been to is Dallas, this was a great tour for me and is another reason to want to retire & full time so I can see things like you've shown.I may go back & read them again to add to my 'someday' list. :D

Finally had a bit of time to read through all your blog posts. You actually have me wanting to visit Tx again! We were through Amarillo a few years ago but did not take the time to learn about all the fun things there. Thanks for sharing your trip. You are so lucky to be able to travel and share with your grandchildren.

Nice blog! I was at Palo Dura Canyon a year or so ago, but unfortunately, I chose a two day period when it was 100 degrees! Just about melted. It is always hotter down there than above, which I should have known, but it was a very interesting drive down and back over the little streams and dams. I did enjoy the big Tom turkeys that strutted through our campsite, however, and would go back there again, just on a cooler day!

enjoyed your visit that was fun although I doubt that I'll ever take my 5th wheel down that road
can't back it up
very interesting and I too am surprised that the pool isn't open
sad for those traveling through as apposed to those that leave the rv and just appear occasionally
