Remember how last year I was complaining about Verizon? viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13214&p=176306&hilit=Verizon#p176306
To summarize: I had bought a new cell phone and jetpack in June and found my data jumped from 16 gigs per month, spending 3-4 hours online every day, to well over 20 gigs with the new equipment. My problem was somewhat solved in fall of 2014 when they doubled everyone's data plan, but I still had to be very careful to stay under 40 Gigs per month over this past winter. (I teach online and have not changed the courses I teach or the number of students or the assignments, and have been occasionally having to use free internet at shopping centers and restaurants because going over 40 gigs was going to cost me another $150 per month--a ridiculous amount.) For most of the past year, I could stay online only about an hour a day without going over a little more than 1 gig per day. I was careful about the size of photos I post online and have been using my cell phone to access a lot of web sites because it uses less data.
So, for the past two weeks something very strange has happened. Suddenly, no matter how much surfing I do or how long I stay online each day, I have not been able to use even half of a gig per day. For the past four days, my total usage has been less than one gig! And I have probably been online a total of 15-20 hours in those four days. It does not make sense.
Now this makes me very happy, but I cannot for the life of me figure out Verizon. When I do my grocery shopping, I can see the things I buy as they are rung up. My biggest complaint about Verizon is that you end up having no way to check their information on how much data you are using. In other words, my laptop does not have a meter on it I can compare to what Verizon says I have used, which is very frustrating.
Obviously, I am not going to do any complaining to Verizon about this!
