I came across a desert tortoise when I was up camping in the mountains just east of San Diego. Not sure why he was in the mountains but locals in town (Julian) said they sometimes saw them around that area.

Great pics Anita. Hate to admit it, I thought a Gila monster was a mythical creature :oops: but what do I know. I've lived in Illinois my entire life. See the things I'll be learning!
