News on Sharon (Sprinter)

Postby retiredhappy » Mon Mar 23, 2015 9:29 am

Sharon is leaving this morning for Pennsylvania. At her last check up they found the cancer has returned and has spread to her spine as well as the original location on her lung. She has chosen not to have chemo but to opt for quality of life. She will be staying with her parents (in her rig) until the time comes for hospice. She is going to stop by the Conroe GTG (I think its conroe) for a few days before heading north. She is comfortable with her decision. Keep her in your prayers. She is a brave and wonderful lady. She said I could make this post after she left to head north.

CarolB stopped by my house Saturday and we took Sharon to dinner and had a good time. Was so happy to get to know Carol better and maybe someday after I get settled in East Texas I can head Northish and meet up somewhere. Carole took the attached picture of Sharon and I.

I'm so sad to hear about Sharon's problems but admire the choice she's made.

Hugs and prayers for Sharon (and you too, as you have been a great help and support to her.) She has been courageous through the long journey, and I pray that she has safe travels, and many quality days remaining.

I wasn't sure just when she'd be heading north ... have been devastated by this news, as Sharon was one of the first rving women I became friends with ... I remember when she purchased her RT and came to visit me, like it was yesterday. I completely respect her decision and hope that she has a lot of quality time.

Big hugs to her and to you, Karen. I know this is very hard for you also.

Thanks Karen for all you've done. Hugs for both along with prayers for the best possible quality of life for as long as possible for Sharon. I regret I did not have the opportunity to meet Sharon but I have enjoyed Karen's company at a few gtgs.

Having met Sharon and being somewhat aware of the misadventures and difficulty even getting that first diagnosis not to mention the difficult treatments, I can understand her decision. So glad that she has her family to wrap around her and stay at her side as she heads off on this uncharted journey.
((((hugs))))) to you Sharon. Your solo trip to Alaska (along with that long tow back to Whitehorse) has always inspired me to know that I might go back north on my own one day.... :)
