Help with understanding the post signs....

Hi, Beth,
I have a couple questions about when I look at all the post subjects within a topic.
First, by each post on the left is a circle with what looks like writing in it. (I assume to look like a letter has been written). Some times there is a red star in that letter, sometimes the lines in the letter are scrolling, sometimes there is a star and the letter isn't scrolling etc.
Could you please explain what all that means?
thanks!

when it scrolls, that means its a "hot topic" the little star means you have posted
in that thread.
Other symbols you might want to know.......
next to the topic title is a little box that if you click on it, it takes you back to
where you left off in that thread, pretty cool huh, then over on the far right
is another little box that takes you to last posted comment.
Then, way over to the bottom right corner of each post is a little blue circle with
an arrow shape in it and that takes you to the top of the page. :D

Well I never noticed the blue box at the bottom right hand corner. It is very faint, but now I see it, how handy. However I don't see those other boxes you mentioned Ava.

Sparkle, to help you a tad - the little box that takes you to where you left off - scroll up and look at this topic title. Just under it is the by Almost There .... Just before the word by is a little box -
