Just thought I would throw this out for the people who enjoy history and don't mind checking out some of the local cemeteries. There is a website called Find A Grave - many people who are doing their family history use the site. There are tons of request for photos from all over the U.S. from people who want the photos but live to far away. So you can put in the zip code of the area you are in and it will pull up a list of requests. You can take the photos and upload them on the site, a message is sent to the person who made the request that the photo is available. There is also a place for comments, so if only a photo of one person was requested, but the entire family is at the same cemetery you can let that person know. I enjoy doing this around the area when I am not working as it gets me out to different areas I might not get to otherwise. Plus I enjoy the history and do my own family genealogy as time allows.

What an interesting concept, and very helpful to those who are unable to visit grave sites in person.

I found my grandfather's grave in Tennessee using Find A Grave. My brother stopped by the cemetary to see his grave when he was on a trip. We had a question about who had put the headstone but he couldn't find anyone to talk to. My grandfather had died in 1918 and you can tell the headstone isn't that old. It was probably my Aunts but they are all gone now.

I will have to see if anyone wants pictures from around here. Will have to tell my sister in law about it. She is really into things like this.

Thanks for starting this subject! I have been meaning to do a similar post for days and keep forgetting.

As I travel, I would be more than happy to visit cemeteries and even do some research.

What a neat idea! The town I live in has a very old cemetary where I used to walk some of my dogs. I wouldn't mind taking pics for anyone who needed them.
