polar bears ----- Friday update

After blowing snow and low visibility yesterday, today was beautiful in Churchill! We saw the sunrise and then we saw a polar bear or two!!!! Many happy people. Then an Arctic fox showed us the way to his napping spot. He napped right near us as we snacked and had lunch. Just before lunch, it was announced the tour company was treating all of us to a one hour helicopter ride over Hudson Bay to look for bears!! I had never been in a helicopter! It was fantastic and we saw several bears. I can't post photos until I get back to my laptop. I had just about written this trip off as a bad dream. Minus 9 degrees at 3 p.m. Back to Winnipeg tomorrow.
Friday------this morning we were told we were all going for a sled dog ride!! What fun that was plus we got to play with the dogs.

Oh I'm so happy for you, Bears !!! The surprise of a helicopter ride to see more, that ride would be exciting too !!! So as long as you've waited for this trip sounds like its going to end in the pluses, yahooo !!!,

Yay!!! Polar Bears! And a fox! Glad you got to see some and got a helicopter ride as well! Can't wait to see pics!

Anita, what wonderful news!!! a friend of mine went on that tour several years ago and only saw one polar bear! I did not want to tell you that before you went. Your tour company did very good by you!!! lyn

I do believe, your tour was a success and added bonus of extra experiences made it a terrific time for you . Waiting with the others for the pictures, and so glad for you it turned out so well.
