Has anyone heard of or, more importantly, tried the Red Swan thing for selling old and or broken jewelry? I read that the send in your items kind of thing might be a scam but this was shown on the Rachel Ray show and there web site looks pretty much up and up. (I know that sounds goofy) Does anyone have first hand experience with this?

I'd be real careful what I did. Unless you know them or know someone who used them don't do it. You know you don't get what they are worth retail right. It has to be real gold - 14, 18, 24 K. We have dealt with a couple of places in New York but don't have the info with us. My husband was in the jewelry business for 50 years. If you want to wait until we are home I could give you the info - but it won't be until April probably.

I took a gold setting from which I had lost the stone, to a local jeweler and he bought it for the gold. Just a thought.
