Yesterday we spent a lot of time in Hutchinson and Yoder Kansas - two very different place. The first has the space museum the Cosmosphere - an incredible museum. And had lunch in Yoder a very tiny Amish settled town.
Did a two part blog on the day.http://lifeinbrowncounty.blogspot.com
Today I think we're going to Wichita and then move on tomorrow.
Bill has been feeling really really good since we've been here.

Very impressive space museum.
I grew up in that "space" world, went to school with the children of the German scientists, etc., got use to the earth shaking to the static tests of the Saturn motor, stayed glued to TV for flight coverage and so on. The accomplishments never cease to amaze me yet, like so many, tend to take it for granted. The current state of NASA and our space program is so sad.

First and foremost - I'm soooooooooo glad Bill is feeling better. That is the most important news from this post.

Next - why did I not even know about this museum in Kansas? It is on my list now. Meantime thank you so much for taking me virtually there today. I, too, wish our space program had continued. We learned so much and are still learning from what little (how can I use the term little) we did - but there's so much more to learn - and so much we learned in space helped us with things here on earth. It's all connected.

Obviously there's so much more for me to see and do - I'll be going and going and going. Just wish sometimes I had that Energizer Bunnies energy to do the going and going :)

Hope to see you both in AZ if you're there later in the season. Maybe, if you don't make it to MX - you should think about coming to Quartzsite in January????

I wish I had known about the museum too. It would have been a good visit after the KS GTG. My dad worked for NASA for 33+ years. I'm kind of glad he doesn't have to see its current state. One of my most-prized possessions is a letter given to my father recognizing him as one of the key contributors to the space program. Along with the letter he was presented with a small American flag carried to the moon and back on the last moon mission, Apollo 17, December 7-19, 1972. It amazes me to think I have something in my house that was physically on the moon in 1972.

If I get to Kansas again, the museum will definitely be on my itinerary.

Neat, Sandi!

I used to love Tang - didn't care for OJ, but loved Tang - I see it out there now but haven't had it since I was a child.
