Several if you have mentioned vertigo at various times. Here's a Colorado doctor with a home treatment for it. Simple and I guess effective.

That is good to know. Haven't had that for a few years but I know it can come on at any time, so will try this if/when it happens again.

I heard of another exercise to do for positional vertigo also (since I used to have it). Basically, fall backwards quickly onto a bed which will also help the particles 'stick' back to where they belong.

Thanks for posting this. I forwarded the article on to my sister-in-law who has almost constant dizziness. I suppose her condition could not be described as vertigo but maybe this technique could help her. She does the "lay on bed and let your head hang off the edge" remedy that does work some of the time.

That seems better than the other maneuver which requires another person to lower you to a lying position and pull you up after turning your head. It also has fewer steps, so I will try it next time.

Thanks for the link, Beth. If the exercise my ENT recommended stops working will try this move.
BTW: Here is link to the exercise I use; so far it is working, usually with only a couple of trys:

Thanks Beth. Woke up with a bad episode of vertigo this morning, so I tried that link, and it seems to be working! Yay!

I've heard of those little particle in the ear pests before. Someone (I think maybe my old chiropractor) told me another solution is to fall back quickly on your bed, a few times if needed.

This would cause those particles to reattach where they should be instead of floating around in your ear making you dizzy.

One thing I have found that helps prevent episodes is to be careful bending down and getting back up again. An older lady friend used to say that after a "certain age" you should not leap out of bed in the morning! What she meant was no fast moves. I find that if I roll over and sit up at the same time it really upsets my inner ear and gives me vertigo, so I get up slowly, rolling over first and then sitting up afterwards.

We had a neighbor in Kalamazoo that had vertigo so bad he had to quit work... he was a truck driver... have lost track of him over the years so do not know if he ever got help...
It is indeed debilitating... thanks Beth for the very informing article...
