Really interesting. I remember during my youth looking forward to the Post arrival to see what Rockwell had painted for that issue. Thanks for sharing him with us.

Thanks for the tour of the beautiful walking paths & scenes & then you blew it away with the Normal Rockwell pics!!!! No wonder he painted such beautiful pictures living in such a picturesque location.
I have definitely added this area to my list of 'must see' places.
I don't know that we can ever thank you enough for all the tours you provide... so I'll just way Thanks once again.

Great post!!! I feel like Catherine each time I think this is my favorite and then you post another and then it is the best. I love them all. Thank you so much. The girl in the red plaid skirt with the saddle shoes made me think of a little pleated skirt my Granny made for me from the same red plaid when I was little. It was one of my favorite things she made for me.

That was great Liz. Several years ago one of my classes at Elderhostel was Norman Rockwell. Interestingly, there is a school of thought that he was not "an artist". This was because of his style of painting. He sure captured Americana in his paintings. The museum in Atlanta was filled with his paintings...they brought in school bus loads of kids to view them. The kids sure understood the message he was telling! I had more fun walking around listening to the comments of the kids! Lyn

finally got to see this on my air card it loads to slowly so try and watch these later where I have more
time ...thanks for the tour that was so interesting another place I'd like to explore
the area surrounding was so pretty
