Here kitty kitty

Late last night, early this morning a young mountain lion seen several times in east Sacramento! They think he is a youngster lost after being chased by territorial older males. Poor guy. They put out phone alert for people to bring in pets and pet food that might attract rodents which would attract that big boy. It's not unheard of here but is unusual. the man who first spotted it said (02 in morning) he knew it was not a dog and followed in his truck until it jumped a fence. Seen later by police who called fish and wild life managers who said as long as it did not bother anyone they would let it go. Probably will head back out into country .
.
That is about 10 miles from here but we have creeks they follow sometimes.

We had one years ago around here and MN isn't known for having mountain lions, so must have come down from Canada. It was spotted around the area for awhile and then disappeared, so probably worked his way back up north somewhere. They don't like being around people if they can help it.

I wonder if that's the one I saw on the news this morning. It was tranquilized and supposedly will be released somewhere safe for it and people.

Yes it was found in a backyard this morning and tranquilized and will be relocated, probably with a radio collar on. He weighed 70 lbs and estimated to be about 18 mo old.I hope he lives a happy life in the wild from now on and finds himself a girlfriend!
