Here are pics I took today of my dad's back yard...





There is a smaller dock next to the big dock that is completely under water (you can see the posts)...


The neighbors docks, can't see their docks or retaining walls at all anymore...


Here is a loon family out from my new apartment...





I took this a week ago...this road near my dad's is now closed...


Another road in my dad's neighborhood flooded and is also now closed...


Docks at my old apartment building (taken last week and now water is up almost a foot higher)...

Gosh, I hadn't even noticed that! Cool! I love the little guy flapping his tiny wings!

I told my dad today that his property is getting to be worth more money as the lake rises. He has a pie shaped lot and the further up the lake comes on the property, the more lakeshore footage he has, making his property worth more! Ha! Got a smile out of him!

Unfortunately, we are expecting more storms starting tonight and going thru the end of the week again... The larger rivers are already about at flood stage and rising still (Mississippi, Minnesota, Crow and St Croix). There is a creek (now a raging river) that flows out of Lake Minnetonka that is way up over its banks and people along there have been sandbagging all week trying to save their homes. More rain is not what we need here. Sure wish there was a way to send it out west!

Between what you've got, my sis in Iowa and my nephew in Illinois, I have to quit complaining about the rain here in SD. Stay safe.

Good morning Barbie, I've been reading your posts, so I know you had to cancel your camping trip and that you are feeling under the weather. Sometimes things don't go as planned. Loved your photos of the loon family. Take care. Peggy

I love listening to the loons around here. We never used to have loons here but now there are quite a few. Am surprised about that since the lake can get so crazy with boats in the summer (pretty quiet this year tho with the speed restrictions).

Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois have gotten the brunt of the really severe weather, we have just had the heavy rains.
