Beth, I thought YOU went to some out-of-the-way, hard-to-reach places!!
And I was afraid to go down that "comparatively" smooth road to the beach in Baja...

Ha Ha Ha....I noticed that they travel with support so that they can take turns using the wrench to tow each other out of trouble. (And no, I'm still not planning on going down that hill to the beach in Baja anytime soon. )

Those Australians are obviously way more adventurous than me! Fun to watch, though.

don't understand anyone abusing their equipment like that. I hope their camping site was worth it, had to be a fantastic place !!!!

my guess though, its just a couple of men showing their macho egos for the film.

I have taken my rig where some might not through the years, but nothing like that. and of course, it was not filmed

its always fun watching ,

Reminds me of a Labor Day weekend in the Sierras many years ago. We were 3 couples and a Toyota Land Cruiser with winch on the front. While we did not encounter water as deep, we had a lot of fun on a day trip 4 wheeling. There was this one place where we got really stuck. Two of the guys got out to hook up the winch to a tree and carried two of the gals away from the mud. I decided to stay in the truck with the driver, a good friend. Between winch and driver and the wonderful Land Cruiser we got out. Silly guy that he was, who loved a challenge, looked it over, scratched his head, and said I know I can drive through that if I tackle it differently. The other two guys, including my boyfriend at the time. Said, no way If you get stuck again we are not going back into the mud. So Jim sized it up and off we went through the mud hole again and we made it. Made for some great pictures, as well as lifelong memories. I still am in touch with all but one of the people I traveled with in Sept 1967!
I did note that the vehicles in the video were very specialized with skid plates under even the trailer. One should never undertake questionable roads without multiple backup systems and vehicles made to take the abuse as these were. I probably would not volunteer for that trip now, body won't take the abuse, but I would have in past and would wish I could now.

Staying on regular roads is about as adventurous as I get! Looks really fun, but scary. :o
