Cover for range top.

I was going to make one of the wood toppers for my RV range. The one Sue? (colliesmom) made. But my range extends out from the front of the counter. It isn't just the cook top - that may be different. So for the time being I'm going to use a large wooden cutting board with legs (spacers really) under the ends. Otherwise I guess it would require the front to be open on the edge. I'd really like it to look a little more finished (and bigger too).

Things are coming along well. I've just been cleaning out the dust from some hidden places, and other general cleaning and sanitizing. Have an apt to get all systems checked out before taking off for the july 4 weekend. I did change out those awful dark brown curtain for a lighter grayish green panels. MUCH BETTER!!!

Personally, I live the fold back one that fits our stoves - had it on my last rig and it was added it to this one.

The dealer didn't give me a choice in which one to add - or I might have looked at some of the others out there - like this one that is dual purpose cover and cutting board:

And I saw one at a CW store that I don't see on their website that I liked as well.

The original metal cover I had drove me crazy when I drove because it rattled. I ended up buying this cutting board which is made to cover most RV stoves: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/hardwood-stove-topper-cutting-board/8648

Fits perfectly and that awful rattle is gone. It has a kind of rubberized backing that keeps it in place. I just move it over to the countertop while I cook, and then move it back when the top of the stove cools down. It has never slipped or moved when I have driven, which is really nice.
