Liz, loved your post on Baja. I, too loved my trip down there. Yes, the people are very friendly. I agree with you on traveling down there. I would do it again in a minute. Your pictures are so wonderful! Lyn

Liz, well put. There are wonderful reasons to travel to Baja and like I said, I am glad that I went. It was a great adventure but for the time and distance traveled, I won't head right back down. Too many other places to see and explore that are also beautiful and full of possible adventures.... :)

I think we all end up in places that disappoint us. The interesting thing is that some of those same places also delight us in other ways.

This kind of travel life is much more of an adventure than just a journey, so you have to be satisfied that the occasional delight will override the disappointments.

Sort of like life in general.

I was staying at a local RV park while my house was being rented during the summer vacation season and met a guy that used to live in a park near the Salton Sea. He was there with his work for quite a while and spoke highly of the area. Glad you girls are back safe and had a great trip. It was awesome following you!

That is so true!

I think anywhere we travel, there are good and not so good things there. It is all in what you choose to focus on while there.

As an example, the Salton Sea, where you are now, is not very pretty for the most part and can be very foul smelling especially in the heat of the summer. However, I found it very interesting to learn the history of it and see glimpses of what was left behind from its heyday. The lake itself is beautiful and I have seen photos of gorgeous sunsets (and lots of birds!). So you can find both good and bad there too. I was a little disappointed when I was there (wasn't what I imagined from reading about it) but found some interesting things there too, that I didn't expect. I do hope they find a way to save the lake and make it clean and healthy again.

Thanks for sharing! Great blog!

Excellent reflections. It is so good to read everyones diverse views of the same experiences. Baja is not an adventure I could ever do but I have thoroughly enjoyed the "Baja Babes" experience and greatly appreciate that each of you took the time to share at least some parts of it with us.

My dad used to go fishing in the Salton Sea and catch Corbina. The rv park near there is The Fountain if Youth. A Hugh park in which people buy into. Has five swim pools if I remember correctly. Lyn

Liz, loved all your posts on Baja. All of you did such a wonderful job sharing your experiences. Loved being an arm chair traveler. (That's about as close as I'll get to it!) I'm just not a desert person, been there, done it. I love all the green places I can go. Give me trees!
