If you are in Florida now and looking for something to do, the seafood festival is coming up February 15 and 16. You can find info when you Google it. They get about 25,000 people in the 10 block town of Cortez. That is near Bradenton (gulf coast). Last year admission was $3.

I have never been there but heard it was a fun place to visit. I'm going with 6 girlfriends and staying in a hotel (YUCK- I hate hotels). Going by RV I'm not sure where to stay, but would think you would need a car to drive to the festival.

OK, now this is my neck of the woods. I owned a motel one mile from Cortez for 21 years, and just drove through Cortez a little while ago on my way home. Well, more like "sat in traffic" on Cortez Rd. because of lots of beach goers mixed with lots of boat traffic means the drawbridge is up a lot. If you come to the seafood festival, you could get a motel room in Bradenton Beach and walk across the bridge to Cortez, or actually, if you have a room anywhere on Anna Maria Island, you can take the free trolley to the foot of the bridge and walk across. That's what I will do if I'm still here and not on the road. There are a couple of RV parks right there where the seafood festival is, but they're packed with mostly seasonal snowbirds so forget getting a spot. :(

We are staying at Best Western Plus Manatee in Bradenton. Guess we will head straight to the festival and hope for a park ing spot. Too far to walk from the hotel to the festival.
