Christmas/Holiday traditions

Reading the treads this morning got me to wondering what different traditions people have passed down in their families. Now for the record I'm not a big fan of the holiday season (to commercial). Give me a meal with family and friends and I'm ok, I don't need nor desire people buying me stuff, but I digress.
The Glass Pickle
Years ago in my travels I found a blown glass pickle Christmas ordainment. The story on the box intrigued me. The history or story of the glass pickle varies but it's a game for the children. Now I've driven semi's since 1995 and spent many years on the road but I always made it home to mom and dad's for Christmas Eve when the whole family and then some would gather. I would hide the pickle ordainment in the tree and the 1st child to find it got an extra little gift. Normally a gift certificate to McDonalds. They like being able to buy their own meal and have their own "little charge card".
