The Sound of Music with Carrie Underwood will be on tonight at 7pm central, if anyone is interested. I think I'll watch it.

It is going to be good. I watched a special the other night about it. They showed some of the clips from it as well as how they selected the children who will be the Von Trapp family, the rehersels both on and off the set and recording of a new CD that is also coming out.

It is on NBC at 8:00 pm this evening in California. Delayed for west coast, I guess.

I agree that it was not as good as the original. It is nice to see a live performance, but I have seen a lot better live Broadway shows. Acting and singing was just a bit disappointing. I changed to another channel.

Maybe I was a bit jaded after seeing a program last week on the real Von Trapps. The real Maria was not very charming, according to her children, and a lot of the details in the movie were just not true. For example, instead of escaping over the mountains, the family took the train to Switzerland! And Maria admitted freely later that she really wanted to be a nun and did not love the father of the family.
