what are your favorite sites to check up on weather...normally use weather.com but tonight it said 0 percent chance of snow in St George
as a friend was posting a picture of her yard in St George covered with lots of snow and on Sat. 60% chance of snow which is when I would be going through there...60 % is a lot...so wondering as weather goes which is most reliable in your opinion...and what do you consider in wind to fast to drive in? I'd rather no wind as in 3 mph but need to be realistic so is 14 or 16 mph to fast? drive a 5th wheel

14 to 16 I consider pretty normal for wind in some areas. Not saying I like it, but it's doable.

My favorite weather site is intellicast.com ... but I prefer accuweather.com on my phone because intellicast is too picture heavy so loads too slow. I also have weather.com on the phone - can you tell, I do comparisons?

And accuweather already has it down to 31 here ... brrrr .... good thing I'm off tonight, cuz it'll be downright cold when I would have been walking Peaches (we just got back). Unfortunately, a couple more nights of this. My water is turned off - using my tank. When it warms up, I'd better put more in the tank.

Since I'm not on the road, I just check local weather sites. Hopefully my NOAA radio would work on the road. Any idea if it would or not? I know it has to be within some distance from a transmitting location.

Accuweather.com is my go to for weather. I park it in any kind of wind over about 25MPH. Most of the time. 5'er can take more wind than a MH, but you haven't been driving long so I would be careful. I would be more worried about the snow than the wind.

Personally I think they just guess  I have the Weather Channel app on my phone.

Looked on Bing weather which I think is Weather.com it also lists AccuWeather and Foreca so you can see all 3.

Saturday St. Goerge UT

Bing: 34/20 mostly cloudy and 60% snow
AccuWeather: 39/23 92% snow
Foreca: 35/10 75% snow

I go with the National Weather Service website, since that's what small plane pilots use. I don't think it has phone/tablet aps.

I like noaa.gov this is the U.S. Government website. I have tried the others mentioned, but noaa is most accurate i think that the other sites mentioned get their info here as well.

According to NOAA it is 13 degrees here in Portland, Oregon. The high for today is forecast to be 27, no precipitation. Monday snow. It's cold here but I think other parts of the country are experiencing worse conditions. I wonder if we'll see a repeat of this weather pattern again this winter.

on my phone, I have accuweather and weather channel and use them both. They are usually within a couple degrees of accuracy.
If I've got the computer available I like to go to wunderground.com as it shows all the maps and actually has a road trip planner.

Sheila here's the link:

Upper left corner has the place to put in the location you want to see.

I like to compare two or three sites too; and then enter town/cities of my planned route into Weather Bug on my iPhone to keep on eye on while traveling. It's easy to add or delete locations as I change my mind about where I'm going (or where I've been).
