Macy's in Seattle

My Uncle sent me this beautiful photo of the Star on top of Macy's in Seattle. He said there were 7 inches of more snow since the photo was taken.

Dan is getting just a thrill seeing all the crappy weather and bus mishaps in WA and knowing he does not have to go out and trouble shoot it anymore. I've got a photo of him walking up a hill with chains in his hands to put on the buses.
He's SO glad to be in Arizona right now.

My step-son-in-law sent images of the storm (he lives in Seattle too). He said everyone just went out and played in it all day & night! So, lots of big "little kids" out sledding and playing with thier dogs in the snow.

I'm here in SW Washington and I too played in it for the first two days. Now it can leave!
We are getting more snow as I type so there has to be over a foot now. Sometime they are saying it will turn to freezing rain and then back to snow. PDX (Portland, OR) airport has cancelled all flights today and for tomorrow already. People are trying to take the Amtrak or busses and they are all shut down as well and people have been days at their terminals with no food. Some nice people have trekked the storm to take sandwiches to them. This side of the Cascades is not prepared for any storm that lasts longer than one good day!!

I grew up in Seattle and remember a couple of big storms like this one. The are NOT prepared for snow removal and Seattleites DO NOT know how to drive in snow. It was beautiful but a MESS on the streets. As kids we LOVED it - no school. As an adult I took a cab to work and the driver ran every stop sign and light on the way so he wouldn't have to stop as he had no snow tires or chains. I stayed in a hotel near work rather than repeat that ride home.

lol Karen that was funny and I'll bet you were scared! We're still shaking our heads about the two bus drivers who went down the hill and crashed and almost hit the freeway! The kids on the bus were begging the driver NOT to go down the hill!! The 3rd driver did not go down but I want to know why the 2nd driver did!!

Really pretty picture, that would be nice blown up to a larger size for hanging. We seem to be having snow in places than aren't acustomed to it, wonder what this winter will end up bringing us? Its just started, by the calendar that is, and we have already had strange weather.
