Tucson for Thanksgiving

Postby Olive600 » Thu Nov 21, 2013 5:32 pm

It's finally happening; I'm taking my first solo RV trip. Our wonderful Karen has met up with me twice locally, so I'm not as nervous as I might be. Thank you, Karen.
This morning I woke up knowing that it is time to get Betsy out on the road. So I called a friend in Tucson and announced my arrival for turkey day. I leave on Monday and plan to arrive in Tucson on Thursday morning. My driving days will be short, less than 4 hours. I'm staying in the places Karen uses when she travels that direction.

The first night I'll spend at Llano State Park where Karen and I went on our last mini gtg. Karen, how about spending some time together in Kerrville on my way? We could go to Walmart and then grab a bite to eat or something like that.

Tuesday is Balmorhea, Wednesday is Demming, and Thursday morning I arrive in Tucson.

I think the water pump is going out. I don't care. Unless Betsy won't start, I'm out of here on Monday morning.
Wish me luck. In one of my first forum posts I planned this trip for mid-May. Guess I'm a little late.
I'm pretty darn excited!

I'll post pics of Betsy's new interior before I leave.

Go Nikki! You'll do fine and have fun doing it!

Ava, I don't have a return date. I'll just stay until I decide to go home. Maybe we could figure out a way to meet?

Sooooo happy to see you fly on your own. Take half gallons of bottled water and if you're hooked up to water you don't need the pump. I always carry at least two bottles of water and always use my blue water filter at the campgrounds. Its not so much that the water is bad in different places as that it has different "bugs" and I have a sensitive tummy. Only drink bottled or Brita filtered and same for the dogs.

Am fighting a bad case of bronchitis - on my 8th day. Guess I'm lucky, this is the first time I''ve ever had it. If I'm feeling better I'd love to meet you for lunch. Right now its an effort to get from one end of the house to the other.

If you end up with questions on the road, I'm as near as a text.
