Macbook power adapter

Just had a very pleasant experience at the Apple store.

My macbook is 2 1/2 years old & the power adapter has been working very inconcistently for the past month or so. Sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it charges, sometimes it doesn't. I'd have to fiddle with it to get it positioned just right to work.

Anyway I've been dreading purchasing another one at $79 - have researched off-brands, etc.

Googling the problem, frequent responses said to take laptop & adapter into Apple to have them check it out.
Soooooo, today I made an appt at the genius bar & took it in.

They ran diagnotics, went & got a box with a replacement adapter, plugged it in, tested it & said I was good to go!!! NO charge! I am so happy!!

Just wanted to let any of you with macbooks to take them in if your adapter starts to go south.
I am a very happy camper! :D :D

Good to know they treated you right, you see less & less of that, these days.

My sister was with me on the way back from picking up my trailer. Someone  ran over her luggage including her purse with her brand new monogrammed iPad in it. She took it to the Apple store and they replaced it for her for free.

I've been a devoted Mac user for many years. Always good service and very rare problems with products.

And before you start thinking of replacing the adaptor of your Macbook, be aware that for it to charge, the plug has to be turned the right direction, with the cord running towards the back, not the front - and sometimes you think it is, but when you unplug and detangle the cord, you find that it wasn't.
