Here is the prediction for a very cold 2013-14 winter. Get out the long johns, comforters, and favorite hot beverage.

"forecasting a winter that will experience below average temperatures for about two-thirds of the nation"

Just what I thought - blizzard 2 yrs ago & last year mild - figured we were in for either cold or snow.

I'm not ready yet! :(

I remember it was a cold winter like that the year Jean and I went to Baja - and we didn't really get warm till half way down! We were so glad to be there. If that's the case this year, yep, it'll be the right place to be again.

I'm with Barbie on that one. I'm testing out vinyl skirting this year so we'll see how well that does, especially since we're getting our first snow with highs in the 30s this Friday. Is the Almanac ever wrong??

I may not have a garage to park in this winter. Both garage buildings here are falling apart and are unusable. The management was supposed to have them fixed by now but nothing has been done yet, (had all summer to do that! ). I am thinking about getting a remote car starter for my Jeep so I can at least warm it up before going outside.

Sure hope they have this forecast wrong!!! Not a fan of cold or wet and when they are together it is even worse.
