winterizing and mice

Ladies, we have had our camper for a few months now, and we will camp once more in October before we put it away for winter. We will be keeping it in a big shed, however this shed is out near a cornfield at a friends house. SO..... how do I keep the critters away (mice, etc). I have read up on winterizing but little is agreed on when it comes to rodents..... and I am kinda freaking out because I put a ton of work into this thing to get it ready for our family ! thanks in advance for any responses

I don't have a rig of my own yet, but posting on rvtravel youtube channel says to block any openings with steel wool. I bet they ladies here have more ideas

I have used bay leaves for several years and have never had a problem with mice.

What do you do with the bay leaves??

When I had my Mustang in storage years ago, I made little bags and filled them with mothballs. I hung them everywhere I could such as on the bumpers on top of the tires, anywhere I could under the car. I even laid a few of the little bags under the hood. Also lay a few on the ground they love to build a nest in any little hole. I feel that the mothballs really helped and they lasted all winter.

At one time we had a 35ft. TT that we used at the Summer Seasonal CG while giving the 5er a rest....When we would close her up, we did the steel wool thing in any cracks or holes the little critters could get into....also used dryer sheets in drawers, closets, and on the bed and couch....but have done the mothballs thing, too...Mothballs tend to stink things up.. , but a day or 2 of airing things out will do the trick when you open up next year.....

This stuff works great. My daughter and I both live out in the country and use it all the time. Available thru Amazon and our local hardware store carries it.

What do you do with the bay leaves??

I put some in all the nooks and crannies; especially the floor-level cupboards.
I also put flea collars in the back of the fridge and water heater to keep out spiders and wasps.
