What a gorgeous area! Love all the waterfalls and the campground was beautiful! I love to look for driftwood and agates, too!

I too, am disappointed in those wood carvings! I thought they were carved out of tree trunks.

Sure wish I could afford to drive up along the North Shore of Lake Superior on the MN side this year, but not to be... :( There are many waterfalls along there too and many are right along the main road so they are easy to see. The ones you saw sure have a ton of water going over them right now tho! (I like little ones too, tho, as they are not so loud and are more soothing to listen to.)

You gals are sure having a great time up there! The weather looks like it has cooperated pretty good too.

I'm hoping that he carves the main statue - but there is something done to make it last, stand, etc. Wonder how we find out ... sad.

I'm going to be forever catching up on your blog - but slowly I'll get there !!!

Good morning Liz and fellow Michigan Wanderers
I really enjoyed reading about your adventures in the UP and wished I could have gone with you. Oh well, I enjoyed spending time with my friends in Traverse City and now I'm meeting up with friends in Spirit Lake, IO. There isn't enough time to do it all. Big hug for you all. Peggy

Ever so nice... I believe that Michigan is the only state that could survive without anything being shipped in...
The water was flowing so fast that was picking up soil from under the water making it look like dirty dish water!

Liz, I think the name of that waterfall with easy access is Sandstone Falls.

Couple of shots of Liz on beach below our mountain picnic area.
