Island Wedding

Hi all! I'm now at my son's house with wifi, A/C & with time to relax so I'm finally at a point to post some pics.
The drive was great! I'm still pretty much a destination driver, still HATE steep downhill grades on mountains, but I have really enjoyed the freedom of the trip & the opportunity to see this beautiful country.
As I feared I have fallen in love with the NW - especially Bellingham, WA. My new sister-in-law works at a chocolate shop downtown & I had my first gelato - so yummy - not too sweet, intense flavors & a beautiful presentation! If I ever move this way, I hope I can get a job there.
So here we go...
Picked up my sisters & sister-in-law from the airport & had lunch in Bellingham before going back to Samish Island.
Chocolate Necessities - where I hope to work someday - isn't this street darling?
The natural beauty of Samish Island
Sadie & I on one of the trails
The neighbor offered some comic relief - or an out for my bro...
The backyard was ready - notice the tents in the background - we had a number of their friends camping... I felt very spoiled in my van.
The happy couple - her mom lives in Hawaii & brought fresh leis - this was taken in their front yard...
The honeymoon cottage (just down the road - they had planned on staying on his boat, but decided they wanted to stay closer) He rented all the properties available once he knew who was coming - this was one of them - so sweet & with just a little shifting we made it available for them - thankfully, Sadie & I had our own bed each night.
Two of my sisters & moi enjoying the reception
More beauty of the island
Two of my sisters are camera buffs so I 'borrowed' most of these pics from them...
Anyway, it was a beautiful day in a beautiful place filled with beautiful people. So happy for them & for us sibs to have this time together.
