Lost my mama

Just to let you sweet ladies know, I lost my sweet mama this week. She seemed to have had a stroke about 2 wks ago and by Monday she was really showing some signs,,, confusion,,, sleeping way beyond her regular routine,, etc....
there was a 3 day hosp stay and tests which showed nothing....but a little normal 90+ yr brain 'hardening'..so we sent her to nursing home to get therapy. She did 2 days ... then went to sleeping most of the day for about 5 days,,,in and out of cognition. Happily,,, she was in the room w/ my dad so they got to spend the last 5 days together,, except mostly she was "asleep" as daddy called it. The dr. said finally that it was like a trans-eschemic stroke tht didn't quit. Anyway,,, the good thing is tht she didn't lie there for weeks,, (only about a day w/o eating or drinking. I prayed that God would have mercy on her and I gotta tell you,,, tht she died the kind of death we all should wish for,,, just going to sleep... NO pain,, just peaceful sleep. Praise the Lord!
So,,, guess what? now I begin the rest of my life. You all pray for me and keep your fingers crossed that I mke all the right decisions from this point on.
I will keep ya'll posted and I want to thank you all,, especially Karen West, for letting me feel a part of this wonderful group and picking ya'lls brains for info and advice. I will surely continue this in earnest in the upcoming months.
Happy trails and looking f'ward to joining you in the hopefully NEAR future.
love, Janet
