Leaving Roosevelt State Park

I stayed here for almost a week and I really had a lot of fun here, ladies, so if you're ever in this neck of the woods, I highly recommend this state park.

To me, reasonable rates for full hookups, spacious sites, a beautiful lake, some sites lakefront, peaceful sounds all around, good internet connectivity and good enough TV reception. (Yes, I like my DirecTV at night!) :) In my mind, the perfect fulltime RVer's campground! :D

Tomorrow I head out to Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama. This park looks fantastic, too, and I'm also making good progress toward the Great Smoky Mountain National Park!

I've been following you're blog Malia and have so enjoyed your candor and honesty. You, like many of other women RV'ers, have been such an "Inspiration" (pardon the pun) to me. I think I have read pretty much all your journal entries and you inspire me to move past the fears that seem to block us (usually fear of financial insecurity). I tried to comment on your blog but could not figure out how to leave a message (computer illiterate I guess). I live in Hunt, TX and also grew up in Louisiana (Jennings). How is your Kismet?

I stayed at Oak Mountain way back in the 80's but we stayed in the cabins. That was where one of our early family reunions was held. It's a nice park.

Pamela,

Sorry it took so long to answer your so-nice post. I thought I had subscribed to this post, but apparently not. Anyway, your saying I have inspired you in any way warms my heart. I know you can tell how much that word means to me. :)

As for commenting on blog, I've tried to make that as easy as possible, but I know different blogs and requirements can be confusing. But you don't have to have a Disqus (my commenting system) account in order to comment. You can comment as a "Guest" by simply using an email address (which is not shared).

I can see we have a lot in common with our Louisiana and Texas connections! Kismet is doing beautifully, although I have had some issues to deal with and more I need to take care of, but then again, who doesn't? It's a small enough price to pay for the blessing of being able to travel with all the comforts of home.

Hope we can meet up sometime!

Malia

Maggie,

I assume you saw my Oak Mountain State Park blog post, and it sure is another beauty, and I'd like to return when I have more time and less rain! :)
