What a perfect ski day it was! Molly and I took a tour of my ski trails on my property, and I took a few pics to share! You can't get a better ski day than this! I hitch Molly to a belt around my waist, using a long leash. Sometimes we get a bit tangled up, but, for the most part, she has learned to stay on the trail and remain in front of me!

THERE'S OUR HOME!

Holy Mackrel! It's winter just 35 miles away (as the crow flies!).... but on the other side of the mountains here in the Lake Champlain Valley we had a cool day, but no snow on the ground. It sounds like Soosie and I live close to each other, but I added 'as the crow flies' to indicate that's over the mountains,... it actually would take about 1.5 hours to drive around the mountain range. And it truly is a different "weather world." I'm surprised to see that the pond is already iced over. That's a great shot up the hill toward your house. No picking blueberries today, eh?

Oh what a beautiful place you have, looks like a great day for you, the snow looks so pretty. Cross-country skiing is something i have never done. Know I don't want to go down the side of a mt. skiing, but now that looks like it would be fun.

Molly, looks a lot like my Maggie. At least in coloring and that side view.

I hope you will show us more pictures from time to time. You do a great job.

Oh, Soos, how so very beautiful. I would have only hiked - and when Moxie was alive, she would have been diving into the snow and throwing it up into the air - she just loved playing in snow so much. She would have lived there so happily And I would have wanted a cup of hot chocolate and a window to look at it from inside most of the time

Carol, I can attest to her blueberries, having been to Soos' place twice in the summer. If she has a gtg this summer and any of you can make it (you have to boondock) you should certainly try - she's a great hostess and the property is really, really beautiful in any season.

Nice to see it's winter SOMEWHERE! Looking at your pictures I could almost see my breath and smell the crisp new snow.

Here in Utah, we are having the longest warm season I've ever seen. I love snowshoeing, and your pictures make me anxious to strap 'em on!

Beautiful snow scenes. Reminds me of my snowshoeing days in the woods behind our farm in VT. (teenage years) Looks like Molly loves her life there with you. Thanks for sharing your beautiful setting.

What beautiful country. I used to love to ski BUT also loved the ski lift to take me back UP the hill.

Hey Soos, love the pics. Had to show them to Kelly then out the door we went to go get some groceries. But I let this post up on the laptop so that I would be sure to let you know how beautiful the pics were. And that I am in awe of the setting. I could really get into that!!! Out there, were no one can look over your shoulder or look out their windows right into yours. Nothing like being private and not worrying about neighbors 12' on either side. It's been since '02' since I've been able to wander outside in a skimpy nightie or sunbath in all my nekkid glory without terrifying the he77 out of the neighbors.

You must love living on your own private little estate.

Absolutely gorgeous. How much property is there? I've always wanted to cross country ski. Have a friend in Burlington that does it, but my schedule never seems to work out. Now, after looking at those pics, I need some hot chocolate, even though I'm in FL carold

Absoulutely beaufiful - so peaceful looking. Love to look at pictures of snow and look at snow out of a nice warm window. Nothing prettier on a sunny day. Isn't it early in the year for that much snow?

I don't think I'll miss the snow - it's pretty and can be fun, but it can be a real pain too !!! I think in Des Moines we got more ice then snow so that made it hard to go outside and enjoy. I know I slipped and fell on the ice several times last year - I hate that !!

Wow that looks so pretty and yes ...COLD! I love a sunny day and snow the ice crystals look like Diamonds. I used to love to go night skiing ( you can see the surface so much easier at night).

One time I got off the chair lift and went the wrong direction and instead of going down the long trail to the bottom of the mountain I got off where the Moguls were ( giant bumbs in the snow) well knowing I was a beginner and did not know how to ski down those I took off my skis and sat down on my butt and slid on my butt all the way down!!! Guys were laughing at me going up the chair lift but I did not care I was not going to break a leg trying to ski down!!

I was born and raised in Jackson WY and we have ski hills. One would think I took up the sport at an early age but no never did. After I was married we went home for a Christmas and my brother took us skiing at the Village. Jenny at least you got off the lift....I ended up half on half off they had to stop the lift and help me off!!! so embrassed!!! Not my best memory
